How It Works

We help kids become healthy, curious, capable learners by exploring the outside world. Every lesson is created to help kids develop key skills, become ready to learn, and ready to thrive.

Outdoors is the classroom

We have no walls. Creatures are our teachers, mud and sticks are our tools.

Every lesson connects us to nature.

Open-ended, Child-led

Kids learn best when they lead the way. We also help grown-ups support their children.

Irresistible invitations to play

Each lesson is engineered to engage kids in play that they simply can't refuse!

Early Literacy in a Nature Setting

There are intentional guiding methods used throughout our classes to support emergent literacy. These methods include:

  • Recommending read alouds of diverse children’s books

  • Dialogue and restating

  • Using high level vocabulary

  • Engaging children in storytelling and retelling

  • Playing with words and mark making (early writing)

  • Participating in songs and rhythm activities

Mycah Klinker

I became a Tinkergarten leader in 2018 and have my degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University. I’ve had the opportunity to learn with children and their loved ones in many different settings including early care centers, public schools, summer camps, and children’s museums. I find so much joy and value in working with families and their children to learn through play in nature!

Here at Magnolia Outdoor Learn & Explore, we believe that learning doesn’t have to be confined to a classroom and that children thrive when given the chance to learn and play in the great outdoors.

I hope you’ll join us outside!
