August's Blue Moon

We are so excited about August's super special blue moon happening on Wednesday August 30th! A Blue Moon isn't about the color, but happens when two full moons occur in the same month.

Want to learn more about why noticing and celebrating the moon and its phases can be a great invitation of wonder and learning for children? Check out this article by Tinkergarten Founder Meghan Fitzgerald for 10 Ways to Celebrate the Full Moon.

We'll be experiencing storms on the night of the full moon where we live, but we'll still make a point to look out and search for the moon's light or shape through the clouds. We'll also try to catch the still large moon in the days after the storm ends by searching for it in the daylight.

I'd love to hear how your family celebrated this special blue moon!
